Free initial call.
In the first instance, you may wish to understand your options. When you first call us, you will speak with our Specialist Family Law & Divorce Solicitor for a free initial chat to see how we can help you.
Fixed Fee initial appointment- Individual advice
We will then invite you to arrange a Fixed Fee initial appointment. This will be with our Director and experienced Solicitor, Gemma Keats. She will discuss with you the background of your matter and give initial advice tailored to you. This will be based on your circumstances and will include discussing the options available to you. She will also advise you of any next steps. Gemma will then provide a more detailed cost estimate for any further work involved if necessary.
The initial consultation is tailored to your requirements and lasts up to 1 hour and 30 minutes. The Fixed Fee for this is £300* in total.
Fixed Fee initial assessment- joint legal advice
If you are a separating couple seeking to Separate Together – Sharing a Solicitor we will invite you to arrange a Fixed Fee initial assessment. This will be with our Director and experienced Solicitor, Gemma Keats. She will discuss with you your circumstances and your priorities to assess whether Separate Together will be suitable for you and your ex partner. Both individuals in the separating couple will require an individual initial assessment. A cost estimate for the full process can be provided on enquiry.
The initial individual assessment typically lasts up 45 minutes. The Fixed Fee for this is £150* in total.
ID requirements.
We will require sight of a form of photo ID, and separate proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 2 months, before this initial appointment.
Hourly rate charges.
Going forward and generally, all work is undertaken on a time spent basis charged at our competitive hourly rate.
Fixed Fee Divorce.
In some circumstances, we can act on a Fixed Fee basis. In particular, for a divorce when there will be no difficulties with service and/or jurisdiction.
The Fixed Fee Divorce, to act on your behalf as a Petitioner, is £1,000* in total. There is also an associated Court fee which is currently £593**.
The Fixed Fee Divorce, to act on your behalf as a Respondent, is £600* in total.
*VAT is not currently applied to our charges. All Fixed Fees are subject to terms and conditions. **This fee is set by the Court and updated from time to time.
